3VTV - Ally to Enterprise Facilitation

by Heath Dewey on May 4th, 2012

On my recent trip to Wales to celebrate the one-year anniversary of the Enterprise Facilitation program in Blaenau Gwent, Blaenau Gwent Effect, I had the pleasure to discover 3VTV.

3VTV is a local television station for Blaenau Gwent, Wales that broadcasts over the Internet and on demand. The name 3VTV, which stands for Three Valleys, accurately represents their desire to provide programming that is interesting and applicable to communities in the three valleys of Blaenau Gwent. Several of their main goals are to build community cohesion and boost the local economy by giving the community a voice and highlighting local businesses.
3VTV is doing many interesting things, but Kapoks was really excited about their film "Effect Blaenau Gwent", which highlighted Blaenau Gwent Effect's Enterprise Facilitator, Moe Forouzan. Check it out above.

Many of 3VTV's other films focus on the local business owners who have benefited from Blaenau Gwent Effect's Enterprise Facilitation methodology. I sampled the White Bean Salad from the Kahve cafe that was highlighted in this film. Very tasty! Next year I will sample the espresso!

I really enjoyed the film "Changes", by local reporter Jessica Jones, that gave a feel for the challenges faced by people in Blaenau Gwent. Jessica nicely emphasized the hope and strength that still exists in communities despite all the adversity. Blaenau Gwent Effect and its Enterprise Facilitation methodology will certainly play a role in building on the vitality in Blaenau Gwent.

During the one-year anniversary celebration I met Gemma Collins, the 3VTV program manager. She is part of a team of professionals at 3VTV that are showing their belief in the future of Blaenau Gwent through digital media. Gemma's most recent blog post describes how 3VTV and Blaenau Gwent Effect work together to accomplish similar goals.

Kapoks is happy to count Gemma Collins and 3VTV as partners in the promotion of Enterprise Facilitation as a model for positive change in communities all over the world.
