Granby, CO Resource Board Meeting

by Heath Dewey on March 24th, 2012

The Granby Enterprise Initiative held its first Resource Board meeting on Tuesday, March 20, 2012. Twenty-four citizens of Granby, CO turned out to support Enterprise Facilitation in their community.
The goal of the first meeting was to learn how the Resource Board and the Enterprise Facilitator work together to support the development of existing and aspiring business owners in the Granby area. Management team chair, Jynnifer Pierro opened the meeting and turned the floor over to the Granby Enterprise Facilitator, Patrick Brower.

Patrick has already has completed over two hundred introductions with members of the community and performed facilitation meetings with ten different clients. Introductions are essential to the development of the program. They are opportunities for the Enterprise Facilitator to describe his role in the community and develop relationships with community members. Facilitation meetings are the opportunities for the Enterprise Facilitator to work with potential or existing business owners. The goal of the meetings is to develop a relationship and to help the clients to exercise other ideas or models in their business planning and practice. The goal of the first meeting was to learn how the Resource Board and the Enterprise Facilitator work together to support the development of existing and aspiring business owners in the Granby area. The Resource Board is the heart of community involvement in the Enterprise Facilitation process. The board is a group of concerned community citizens that have committed to supporting Patrick. They do so by meeting monthly with Patrick and helping he and his clients by providing them with personal and professional contacts that will assist them in moving forward with their business development ideas. The energy displayed by the Granby Resource Board is a strong indicator of the positive community involvement in the Granby Enterprise Initiative.
